OpenAI Delays IPO

Source: FortuneĀ Editor-in-Chief Alyson Shontell and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman at the company's San Francisco headquarters.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman confirmed that the company will not go public in 2026.
The Details:
In a Fortune interview, Altman said current concerns around AI safety make this an āill-advised momentā for an IPO. He said OpenAI is not under pressure to go public and has more work to do.
The decision puts OpenAIās IPO plans behind its safety and alignment work. Altman said the company needs to address what will be required for AI safety and alignment, as well as how the AI industry and governments can work together.
Altman specifically ruled out 2026, saying, āI would say not 2026.ā He did not confirm a specific new IPO date.
The key question now is when OpenAI will decide it is ready for a public listing, particularly as it continues its work on AI safety, alignment, and cooperation between industry and governments.

GPT-6 Astra Runs a Business

OpenAIās GPT-6 Astra performed strongly in two agent benchmarks from Andon Labs: Vending-Bench and Drone-Bench.
The Details:
In a simulated vending-machine business, Astra averaged a $15,515 final bank balance across six runs, nearly three times Claude Fable 5.1ās $5,422 average.
The results show Astra can handle longer, multi-step tasks with limited human input. It also demonstrated the ability to write software for a drone that can navigate an office, identify a specific person and follow them.
Drone-Bench has five tasks: 3D reconstruction, localization, navigation, person detection and tracking. Astra became the first model whose best attempts beat the human-AI baseline on all five. However, its average run had only a 2.8% chance of passing all five steps in sequence.
Astraās best results are impressive, but the low end-to-end success rate shows that reliable autonomous performance remains a challenge.

Anthropic Wants to Slow AI

Source: CNBC
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei proposed slowing the pace of AI development. He says the toughest issue is what happens if countries such as China do not slow down too. Anthropic has already committed to the first step of his three-part plan.
The Details:
Amodei argues that the military advantage and incentives to move ahead make international coordination difficult. His proposal aims to improve AI safety without giving up commercial advantage or the U.S. lead in AI.
The plan calls for independent safety evaluations, common safety standards among leading AI companies in democratic countries, and coordination between democratic and authoritarian governments.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Google DeepMindās Demis Hassabis and Elon Musk supported the proposal.
Chinaās approach could be critical. President Xi Jinping has called for a global AI governance framework and said China will help build a BRICS AI open-source community. Trump and Xi are also expected to discuss AI on Sept. 24.

Find Your Brand in AI Search
AI search is changing how people discover and compare brands. To understand your visibility, you need to check whether AI platforms mention, recommend, or cite your brand.
Step 1: Choose one market
Start with one country or market that matters to your business. Search behavior can vary by geography.
Step 2: Identify important questions
List the key questions people ask about your category. Focus on questions related to their problems, needs, and buying decisions.
Step 3: Test AI platforms
Ask these questions in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Check whether your brand appears in the answers.
Step 4: Track your competitors
Note which brands are mentioned or recommended instead of yours. Also check which sources AI platforms cite.
Step 5: Study how your brand appears
Record when your brand is mentioned and how it is described. Look at the sources influencing the answers.
Step 6: Find content gaps
If your brand is missing, check whether your website answers the important questions. Consider creating useful FAQs, troubleshooting guides, or blog posts that directly address those questions.
This process helps you understand where your brand stands in AI search and where improvements may be needed.
